How it works

From you to a melody

  1. Type your full name in any alphabet, your date of birth and your time of birth.
  2. The three are combined and turned into a digital fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash), the same technology used to verify files and passwords.
  3. The fingerprint decides every note: pitch, length, accents and tempo.
  4. Press Play to hear it as a synth or a real grand piano, and watch each note light up on the score as it plays.
Date + fingerprint

Your birth date plays the melody you can read, one note per digit. Your name and time of birth play the accompaniment.

Pure fingerprint

Everything goes through the fingerprint together, giving a 24-note melody over a slow bass line.

Why it's unique

Every person gets a different tune. The pure mode can produce more than 1033 different tunes, and the date mode more than 1020 for every single day. Even if everyone born in the last 125 years used it, the chance of any two people getting the same tune is below one in a million.

The same name, date and time always give the same tune, so it's yours every time you come back.

What you get

A PNG image of your tune as real piano sheet music: treble and bass staff, tempo, time signatures, accents and staccato marks, with your name, date and time in the title. Hand it to a pianist and they can play exactly what you heard.

You can also download the melody itself as an MP3, played on the piano or the synth, ready to send or use as a ringtone.

Your privacy

Everything runs in your browser. Your name and birth details are never sent or stored anywhere.
